Helper!

She was feeling much better today Masha Allaah. And was running around the house helping me.

So took the opportunity and taught her how to sweep the floor, use the dustpan and the brush and arrange the bed.

She has fun disarranging the bed spread I hope she will have fun arranging it now Insha Allaah lol.

Will be posting the activities we did on Themes Insha Allaah soon.

Taking it easy....

She has been not up to her mark because of the flu so we have been taking things easy Masha Allaah.

So what was she up to these days...

Reading, colouring cooking and feeding her stuffed toys with coriander leaves..

Lacing the shapes and scooping them one by one with a spoon. She was doing all this on her own for hours masha Allaah. Her nose was blocked every now and then she was suffering but concentration was in this too masha Allaah.

We have started a till to collect all the coins and help the poor. She wanted to do this when she learnt about Zakaah. So it has been sometime now. We hope to collect as much as we could Insha Allaah and help the poor and the needy..

We are hoping to start our normal activities soon Insha Allaah.

Dukhan...

We have not been doing much last week as both of us were not feeling too well. So we were only reading and learning the words and she was most of the time typing on Yahoo.. Masha Allaah she can type few words on her own now and this yahoo chat has helped..lol

Taught her how to dry the clothes on the rack and here she goes..

We were also learning the names of the Prophets and she has caught them all masha Allaah. I have still not heard her saying all 25 names. But I hope she will do it soon Insha Allaah

Then this Friday we joined another 3 families to go to Dukhan. Here is a bit about Dukhan..

Dukhan is the first place that Qatar discovered oil in 1938. Since then Qatar Petroleum has developed this area in different stages. You can find more info here Insha Allaah.

Masha Allaah it is a beautiful calm place. You get a nice beach there. They say you get dunes and foxes, rabbits and all that. We went only to the beach, the kids and the menfolk had fun in the water. Maimoonah enjoyed in the water with her new float. She was thrilled to be in a float because she has a book on how Tod Toad helped Gib Goat come out of the water by giving the float, lol.

It was nice masha Allaah but we could not take any pics because Photography is strictly prohibited in Dukhan.. But managed to get this... Aunty She and Aunty Shafi were busy making this turtle... along with Maimoonah, juwi and Ayan...

House Work + Names of The Prophets

So we did a little bit of house work today. Taught her to clean the floor with the sponge and then mop. She did a wonderful job Masha Allaah. I am seriousely thinking of giving her the mopping job from tomorrow Insha Allaah! lol

Then taught her how to fold a hankerchief. She folded it and gave it to her Abi to take with him to work!

We made this poster from here and put it up to learn the names of the Prophets mentioned in the Qur'aan Insha Allaah.

I tried her pre writing ability by giving her a worksheet and asking her to write on top of the dotted lines. She was good masha Allaah more practice will make it perfect I guess Insha Allaah.

We did the next chapter on MEP maths.. Progressing well masha Allaah.

Maths today!

Before we started our studies, her Abi has insisted that all her stuff toys need a good bath in the washing machine, so she wanted to do that and get them dried soon.. While studying she went to the washing machine few times to check them out lol..

So we did a little bit more maths today. We use the MEP reception year. I thought this would be too much for her at the beginning but it was so fun and she caught most of the contents masha Allaah. Actually this book I feel is good Insha Allaah. When she is able to write she would complete this book without a problem Insha Allaah. So this is what we did today.. These activities include counting, description, observation, testing if she knows positions etc etc. Masha Allaah she did well in all this.

She enjoyed the activity that she had to jump and knock if she agrees with the answers.. giggling and laughing. Masha Allaah!

We read about Prophet Hud alaihissalaam from the "Prophet sent by Allaah" series.

Then she did a little bit of coloring.

Also Reading program has done good masha Allaah. She wanted me to write something on her book so that she can read. So this is what I wrote and she could read this without a problem. (only the words I have flashed her so far, she could read the words when I have put them into a sentence) Masha Allaah!

Maimoonah loves Allaah.

Maimoonah loves Abi.

Maimoonah loves Ummi.

Oceans and Seas...

Since we had a wonderful time at the beach yesterday we had a little bit fun today studying about oceans and seas. Masha Allaah. Also this post will be a note Insha Allaah of a productive day of homes schooling.

So as usual we started the day by changing the dates on our calendar and listening to the Qur'aan here.

Then we got this lap book idea from here and started working on it. So here she goes colouring the Ocean Animals.. (while colouring we were talking about how beautifully and perfectly Allaah has created the sea and all what we saw at the beach yesterday, and she reminded me by saying "Allaah is Al Khaaliq, Ummi")

Then while I was cutting to make the lap book I had a surprise masha Allaah. She said "Ummi see this". And this is what I saw..

Subhanallaah, she has taken her magnet alphabets and made the word "Allaah" as she knows to read this word through our Glenn Doman's reading program. And if you notice she has made the "ll" with the equals sign lol. She has started chatting on yahoo with her Abi and all those whom I chat with by typing the words she knows, so I guess she is trying to make words now too.. May Allaah give her all success Aameen.

Then continuing with the lap book after I finished she wanted to paste "Baakhirah,(boat) and Qaarib(row boat)" on the Ocean.. (she remembered what she had done on the theme Transport)

Then we read the encyclopedia and got to know more information about the Oceans and ocean animals.

Then we did a little bit of reading or rather flashing the words....

Then we read a little bit of Aqeedah and Usooluth Thalaathah...

Then lunch time.... and reading aloud.... while I feed she will turn the pages and I will read.

Finally the session has ended Masha Allaah and you can see her giving some rest to her mind and body Masha Allaah after a busy day...

When she wakes up she will play at the alligator (that's how she says to the play area downstairs.. lol)
