All about Cats!

We resumed our schooling after the break and the topic on Science was Animals. Suddenly Maimoonah wanted to learn about Cats as she really loves cats added to that she saw a Persian cat which came home couple of time and discovered that it belonged to the downstairs neighbour. So any way even though this was not planned I quickly looked up at homeschoolshare for a lapbook and found one.

Printed right away and we sat to study about Cats. We used all her encyclopaedias and she read all about cats very much independently and was so amazed to know they only hunt, eat and sleep lol!

Any way after reading many things about The Cat Family we got on to the LapBook. This is the Cover.

And here is the inside. She wrote some of the facts and I wrote the remaining while she dictated.

We learnt the body parts of the cat and how they grow.

Some facts about the cats.

We also learnt some cat-ch Phrases, something very new to Maimoonah and it was interesting for her to know that people use such idioms and phrases lol.

We then learnt about the claws.

We learnt about the Domestic, cats and wild cats. She used the encyclopaedia and read about them. Also read about fur and what cats eat. She used her stencils and drew fish and bird.

Then we learnt that cats can see even in the dark and why. And pondered over the creation of Allaah. I spoke a little bit about how Allaah is so Merciful that He has created each kind of animal differently and uniquely.

And the interesting part was how does cats communicate. This she volunteered to write.

And finally a cat shaped small booklet for her to write her own "Notes" about cats. I told her whenever she wants to write about cats something to write on that Insha Allaah!

Umm Khadeejah while I was typing this post I knew you would like it and comment with what you have written - spontaneous!! lol!

Umm Suhailah Both the cuties are welcome any time!
we have asked her few time she has told different things like teacher, doctor and so on. I do not think she is thinking on that lines yet, Allaahu A'lam.

Imaan, she is begging me to keep a cat in the house, I am just allergic to them, I said Maimoonah I cannot stay in the house when cats are around. She tell me do not worry Ummi, when the cat wants to go to the toilet I will quickly take it to the toilet and wash and flush, you do not have to do anything lol!

She would love your Rocket! : )
Aameen to your dua!

Umm Adam, Jazzakillaah Khayr, I did not know you had such a wonderful website over there with lot of resources, will check them out soon Insha Allaah! Appreciate you stopping by, thanks for your kind words ukhtee!
