Nurture Nest Membership - A Unique Accredited Learning Pathway - Ages 3 - 18

     بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

What is Nurture Nest Membership?

Nurture Nest provides families with flexible learning opportunities that allow children to explore their interests, develop academic knowledge, acquire practical life skills and have their learning recognised through UK exam-board Unit Award certificates.

Whether your child is homeschooled, attends a school, participates in online classes or learns through projects and independent activities, Nurture Nest offers different ways to access learning units and work towards certificates.

Our aim is to make learning meaningful, practical and accessible, while helping families make better use of their children's time. Through carefully selected topics, children can develop skills away from screens, explore new interests, apply what they learn in everyday life and build a record of their achievements.

Nurture Nest integrates Islaamic values and concepts into learning wherever appropriate, including academic subjects, life skills and practical projects.

Accreditation and certification

Nurture Nest is an approved provider of a well recognised UK Exam Board Unit Award Programme. It is an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual, the qualifications regulator in England.

The Unit Award Programme enables learners to have their achievements in specific units of
learning recognised through certificates. It is suitable for learners working towards a variety of learning objectives, interests and practical skills.

These certificates recognise completed learning units and the evidence submitted. They are awards rather than formal academic qualifications such as GCSEs alothough the units are mapped towards International GCSEs and High School Qualifications.

Each registered learner receives am Exam Board Student Number, allowing their achievements to be recorded as they complete eligible units. In shaa Allaah.

Annual membership

Every child participating in Nurture Nest certification must have an active annual membership.

Membership year
September – August

Annual membership fee
$55 per child

Your membership covers the exam-board and certification fees, regardless of:
  • How many eligible units your child completes.
  • How many certificates your child earns.
  • Which Nurture Nest learning option you choose.
The membership fee does not include every assessment or learning resource. Depending on the option you select, there may be an additional assessment fee or a separate cost for a course or resource pack.

Once your child's membership is active, you can choose from the available Nurture Nest learning options and select the units that best suit your child's age, interests and learning needs.

What does membership offer?
  • Flexible learning and unlimited unit awards
  • Choose from the eligible units available through your selected learning option. There is no annual limit on the number of eligible units completed or certificates earned while your membership is active.
  • Certificates for eligible courses and resources
  • Nurture Nest and Nurture Islaam courses, including future courses, will include the applicable certificates as stated in their course details. Eligible digital resources will also include certificate opportunities as specified for each resource.
  • Unit guidelines and independent learning. Access guidance and learning objectives for selected units, enabling your child to work independently with resources of your choice and submit evidence for assessment.
  • A record of learning and achievements: Maintain an organised record of completed units, courses and certificates through our student records system. This can help families document learning and demonstrate progress over time.
  • Digital certificates are provided for successfully completed eligible awards. Printed certificates can be collected in Doha or arranged separately by agreement, subject to availability and any applicable delivery costs.

Three ways to access Nurture Nest learning units

Once your child has an active membership, you can choose the learning approach that suits your family. You may also use different options during the same membership year.

Option 1: Nurture Nest and Nurture Islaam Courses
Structured learning with course guidance

Participate in selected online courses offered by Nurture Nest or Nurture Islaam. These courses are designed around specific learning objectives and may include live classes, guided activities, worksheets, projects and other learning materials, depending on the course.

Courses are offered at accessible prices, with the applicable certificate included as stated in the course details. No separate assessment fee is charged for the certificates included with these courses.

This is a suitable option for families who prefer structured teaching and guided learning rather than planning every unit independently.

Course fees, schedules, age groups and included materials will be announced for each course.

Option 2: Guided Unit Completion
Choose your topics and use your own resources

This option is for families who want the flexibility to choose topics and complete units at their own pace, without purchasing a complete Nurture Nest resource pack.

We will periodically open selected units across different categories and age groups. For example, we may announce the units available for November and invite members to choose the topics they wish to complete.

How it works

1. Receive the announcement. Active members will be notified when new units open for registration.

2. Choose your units. Browse the available topics for your child's age group and select the units you want to complete.

3. Register. Complete the sign-up form for your selected units.

4. Receive the unit guidelines. We will provide a document outlining the unit's learning objectives, suggested activities, evidence requirements and guidance on how to complete the work. Where appropriate, we will also suggest ways to integrate Islaamic values and concepts.

5. Complete the work. Your child can use books, materials, websites and other suitable resources available to your family. Nurture Nest does not provide a full set of worksheets, study guides or learning resources under this option.

6. Submit for assessment. Once the work is complete, submit the required evidence for review. We will assess it against the unit requirements and, if the criteria are met, submit the claim to the exam board for the Unit Award certificate.

7. Receive the certificate. The digital certificate will be provided via email following successful completion and processing of the award. Printed certificate arrangements can be discussed separately.

Option 3: Complete Nurture Nest Learning Resources
Study guides, worksheets and project guidance

For families who prefer a more complete, ready-to-use learning package, we will offer selected Nurture Nest and Nurture Islaam resources designed around eligible learning units.
Unlike Option 2, this option provides the learning materials needed to work through the unit.

Depending on the resource, these may include:
  • A study guide explaining the topic.
  • Worksheets and structured activities.
  • Learning tasks linked to the unit objectives.
  • Project instructions and guidance on collecting evidence.
  • Instructions for completing and submitting the work.

Your child works through the provided materials, completes the required activities and submits the evidence for assessment. Once the requirements have been met, we will submit the certificate claim to the exam board.

This option is suitable for families who want greater structure and ready-made resources without having to develop their own activities.

Assessment fees apply unless the particular resource explicitly states that assessment is included. Resource prices and assessment arrangements will be provided with each product.

How do you choose and register for units?
The process is designed to give families flexibility without requiring them to commit to a fixed programme of study for the entire year.

1. Watch for member announcements (We will also have a Whatsapp Group for members). We will notify members when selected units become available for registration each month in shaa Allaah.

2. Browse the available units. Each announcement will explain the categories, age groups, topics, learning options and relevant fees.

3. Select your preferred units. You can choose one unit or several, depending on your child's interests, time and learning needs.

4. Complete the sign-up form. Once registered, you will receive the relevant unit information, unit guidelines or learning resources according to your chosen option.

5. Complete and submit the evidence. Follow the instructions provided and submit the required work for assessment. You have one academic year to work through and submit evidence to claim certificates.

6. Receive your certificate. Following successful assessment and the processing of the award, your child's achievement will be recorded and the digital certificate provided.

For example, a member may choose a Life Skills unit in November, a Science unit in December and an Art & Design unit later in the year. There is no need to follow the same subject sequence as another child.

The purpose is to allow families to build a learning experience around their own children's interests, abilities and circumstances.

Nurture Nest Homeschool Support
Nurture Nest Homeschool Support is one of the learning options available to members. It provides a more specific pathway for families seeking support with their homeschooling and their children's learning achievements.

For details about the Homeschool Support Programme, its available packages, requirements and fees, please refer to the separate Nurture Nest Homeschool Support guide. (contact us to receive guide - info@umm-maimoonah.com)

A learning opportunity beyond worksheets and screens
Children learn in many different ways. Some enjoy academic study, while others flourish when they can create, build, organise, investigate or work on practical projects.

Nurture Nest encourages families to use learning opportunities that go beyond worksheets and online activities. Depending on the unit, children may be able to:
  • Develop practical skills they can use in everyday life.
  • Complete creative projects and hands-on activities.
  • Explore interests they may not encounter in their usual curriculum.
  • Apply academic knowledge to real-world situations.
  • Develop independence, responsibility, problem-solving and organisation.
  • Build a record of their learning and achievements over time.
Families can choose units that complement their child's school curriculum, introduce new experiences during weekends and holidays, or provide purposeful alternatives to recreational screen time.

The aim is not simply to collect certificates. It is to encourage children to learn, practise, apply and demonstrate what they have gained from each experience.
