Clothes

Sister Umm An Nnman from www.amuslimchildisborn.blogspot.com helped me out with yet another Theme and here is how Maimoonah enjoyed Insha Allaah.

As usual we started reading the Darul Kitab Learn About series book on "Our Clothes" and also reading about clothes in the encyclopedia.

Then she coloured the shirts to match on her whiteboard with magnets.

And she counted in Arabic and matched the numbers..

Then we pasted the pictures and made the Clothes story book.

Then she took her real clothes and came to me while I was reading the story book and she enjoyed this Masha Allaah! Learnt all the Arabic terms too!

Then we pasted the girls clothes and boys clothes separately onto her Environmental Studies book and read together.

Then we did a little bit of texture feeling. I kept different clothes made with different materials and taught her how to feel them and told her the names of the texture. Then told her to close the eyes and identify each of them. She wanted to wear my Niqaab and do this.. So here she goes.

Alhamdulillaah! I want to thank sis Umm An Numan again for all her help! Thanks sis and Jazzakillaah Khayr!

Our Calendar

We started "Our Calendar" Today, Masha Allaah. From Today onwards Insha Allaah she will change the day, date, Month, Year everyday. Hope this will enable her to recognize and read the days of the week, months and numbers Insha Allaah. Here is how she did it today...

Also Masha Allaah she has learnt the names of the Ummahaathul Mu'mineen. Now if I say the first names she will tell the sir names Masha Allaah. The list of names have been put on the whiteboard and we have been reading them whenever we pass the board.

Away we go Insha Allaah!

Alhamdulillaah! Here is how Maimoonah enjoyed her “Home School” activities on the theme “Transportation” done by my dear sister Umm Nu’maan. May Allaah bless her and her family and grant her the highest position in Jannah Aameen. She has indeed been a great help masha Allaah.

We started off by seeing a power point presentation on transportation. She enjoyed this and while watching I explained to her that Transportation is a blessing from Allaah so that people could travel from one place to another. She memorized this and started saying “Transport is needed to travel to one place to another”. Then also I told her that Allaah has blessed Abi with a car which is a mode of transportation so that we could travel and explained to her to make shukr to Allaah. She said “Oh Allaah thank you for the car”.
Then we got on to the process of printing and putting together the beautiful Qaamoos and here is how it looked , masha Allaah. I printed it out on thin board as I do not have to laminate insha Allaah.

We read the Qaamoos together and she already knew some of the names of the vehicles and she was thrilled to hear them again in Arabic masha Allaah.

Then she coloured all the pictures, seems like she likes yellow colour as she wanted all to be coloured in yellow, lol. I told her “Aunty Umm Nu’man” has coloured in different colours so it will be nice if you could use colours like that”. She said ok for a while and got back to yellow again! Here you can see her in action Insha Allaah.

Then we cut the pictures out and she applied glue and we pasted the pictures to make “Away we go” A Colour and Learn Book. She enjoys applying glue like this……….

Then we pasted and made the book and it looks like this Masha Allaah!

Then we read the book together.

Usually she loves reading and keeping things in mind and does not enjoy board games. This time I tried something new . Her Abi had taught her about Magnets, how it attracts and runs away. And bought her magnets with circle shapes to play on her small white board. So I printed out the Sheets and kept it on her white board and gave her the magnets with the game pieces and Masha Allaah she liked it so much the rest of the week too she was matching on her own. Here is how she did that!

She tried doing The “Qitaar” puzzle but it was a bit difficult for her so she wanted me to do it and she had a wooden puzzle on Transportation, so she did that!

Finally she gathered all her toys of Transportation and went on a travel with her stuff toys Masha Allaah! And here I taught her the dua what we should recite when mounting on to a vehicle. This is from one of the the books from the “Learn About Series for Children”, by Daarul Kitaab .

Here is Maimoonah saying “Away we go Insha Allaah”!

One thing that we did not do yet is the Matching the Arabic words with the Pictures. I am still in the process of introducing the words and in another couple of weeks Insha Allaah she will be able to recognize the words and will match.
Today she asked me to match the pieces on to the Game Board and masha Allaah she was telling me all the Arabic Terms for the Vehicles and asking me to match, when I did that she said “Very Good Ummi, Ahsanti”. Lol!
I am so glad that at the end of the day all the hard work of sister Umm Nu’maan has produced goodness masha Allaah. Dear sis May Allaah reward you with great khayr for all your efforts. Oh before I forget Maimoonah says a BIG Jazzakillaah Khayr and Hugs to Aunty Umm Nu’man”.

I hope and pray that all the other sisters too would benefit from this Insha Allaah and enjoy learning as much as we did!

Alhamdulillaah for Food!

Alhamdulillaah, we had great fun doing this theme Masha Allaah, and sis Umm Nu’man wanted me to share our experience once again. So here we go…

We began by reading the book “Eating and Drinking” by Daarul Kitaab.

I explained to her that we need food to get strong so that we can worship Allaah and reminded her that Allaah has created us only to worship Him alone. This book has the etiquettes of eating and drinking and masha Allaah she already knew the duas and was familiar with the contents of the book as we read this very often.

Then we read a little more about Food in the Encyclopedia and learnt that Food consists of nutrients. And we wrote the 6 kinds of nutrients on our white board so that we remember through out Insha Allaah. She learnt this so soon Masha Allaah!

Then we made the Qaamoos and she started colouring the pictures and pasted and made the Colour and learn book.

And this is how the books look Masha Allaah. We read and she learnt all the Arabic terms too.

Now it was time to have fun with real food! I taught her how to lay the table and here she goes…

The next day she did this on her own Masha Allaah!

Then she started matching the real food ! While doing this I mentioned the nutrients found in each food item. And now whenever she eats she asks what do you get in this food?

After matching she wanted to go shopping to buy food and she did her pretend play buy putting the fruits and vegetables into a bag at the supermarket! Lol!

She liked matching real food and was not interested in the matching activity so I thought of something else and made a small Environmental studies book and we began with the theme “Food”. This way I thought each theme we will do something so that she can refer back altogether at the same time and this will be a good revision Insha Allaah. This is what I did!

I took a Botany exercise book and pasted the Matching activity materials on to the book . We divided the food items according to the nutrients and pasted on each page. I introduce sight words to her and she tries to read Masha Allaah, so included Matching activities too. When she learns the words she can match with pictures Insha Allaah. Then we read the book , as we read she started running to the table to bring real food to match with the pictures again.. She loves this book and keeps reading all the time Masha Allaah. This is how it looks and you can see her in action!

Finally we thought we would do something yummy! We made a chocolate biscuit pudding! For those of you who want to try it out here is the recipe Insha Allaah!

Icing sugar 500g

cocoa powder 60-70 g

Butter (the regular size anchor butter, not the small one)

4 eggs

4-5 packets of marie biscuits

Cashew nuts

Milk (to soak biscuits)

Vanilla to taste.

Beat the egg whites separately until fluffy. Set aside.

beat the butter, egg yolks, cocoa powder and icing sugar in another bowl. (add sugar little by little).

Fold it with the beaten egg whites.

Add vanilla and mix.

Arrange soaked biscuits in milk and then a layer of pudding, biscuits again and then pudding, make as many layers as u like. Chop the cashew nuts very finely and you can put it in every layer with pudding, or just on the top for decoration and u can also add chocolate syrup.

That’s it! Enjoy! And mail your comments... :)

Alhamdulillaah once again we had a joyful learning session throughout the week and May Allaah reward sis Umm Nu’man for all her hard work.
