This 3-month journey through the Seerah offers young students a rich and impactful understanding of the Prophet’s life, from his blessed birth to his death, with all major events discussed in detail.

Course Details

Who can join: Boys ages 12 to 18+

Duration: November 30th 2024 - February 22nd 2025 (just in time for Ramadhaan) In shaa Allaah

Schedule: Saturdays, 1.5-hour sessions

About Ustadh Abu Afnan Muhammad Abdullaah

• Abū Afnān Muhammad Abdullah began studying in 2001 spending 2 years in Egypt studying Arabic and Quran 
• Spent 4 years in the city of Arar and studying many books from the المعهد العلمي curriculum which is set by Imām Muhammad Ibn Saud University sitting with Sheikh Awad as Sabti (current deputy Minister of Awqāf of KSA) and others. 
• Completed  Imām Ibn Saud University Faculty of Shari'ah
• Studied with many scholars after being in KSA for close to 20 years in classes, gatherings etc and read books directly to several scholars one of the last ones being Sheikh Mustapha Mabram 
• Has several ijaazahs to narrate various books of knowledge 
• Currently pursuing a post graduate certificate in Arabic Manuscript Studies.

Other Qualifications

• BA  School Psychology/Education, Florida A&M University 
• MA Translation Studies, Portsmouth University 
• Traditional Ijazahs in several  Islamic Sciences

Format and details of the workbooks

Story - Each book contains a simplified but comprehensive story with cute hand-drawn unique illustrations (without images of humans or animals and images that do not go against the Islaamic guidelines), without any exaggeration and taken only from the authentic text. This can be used to read aloud and for enhancing reading skills too. 

 

Lessons and Benefits  - The 5 stories of the Prophet have lessons and benefits from the story listed in simple language. 

 

Activities - Each book includes engaging activities that develop and enhance Islaamic knowledge as well as other skills such as comprehension, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 

 

    

Lapbooks/Scrapbooks  - Each story follows up with a Lapbook or a Scrapbook which aids in revision and retaining information learnt. The children enjoy putting together their own Lapbook/Scrapbook following the step by step instructions provided. 

 

Research Projects/Timeline  - The pack includes five research projects and the seerah timeline. The projects are chosen from the relevant stories. They include templates and guidelines to make their own research and complete the projects. 

 

Answers - Answers are provided as a separate PDF document for each workbook to make it easier for you Inshaa Allaah.

How to Print and Assemble the Books?

All pages are A4 size printing settings. You need to print them and bind them. You can print double side to save paper and print the Lapbooks/Scrapbook and the Research Projects in single pages. The Lapbboks/Scrapbook and the Research projects come separately in PDFs to make your printing easier. 

You could also print the cover pages on hardboard to get a hardcover

You can also print only the storybooks and keep them on your shelves to read and print the activity sheets as and when you need them. Alhamdulillaah for digital documents you have the flexibility of reprinting yourself, unlike the hardcover printed books you purchase.

Seerah - When the Moon Split and Al Israa

Few days ago I just realised it has almost been 2 years since we did Seerah Worksheets, Subhanallaah! We started our seerah study if you remember something like this. We used to do Worksheets based on The Sealed Nectar and Maimoonah used to enjoy them from those days.

Since then we have been reading the Book the Sealed Nectar and revising the Makkan Period as we almost finished off the Makkan period at that time. We lately switched to "When The Moon Split" book as we found that more appealing for reading for Maimoonah, and since it does not go into that much detail but still covers the events Maimoonah enjoys reading by herself as well. Also its by the same author of the Sealed Nectar any way.

So we started off from where we stopped with regard to the Worksheets and, after reading the Miracle of the Prophet and the event led to it we also covered Al Israa and Mi'raaj again and she completed the worksheets yet again.

Kindergarten Curriculum Summary - Week 31

Islaamic Studies

• Scholars of Islaam - Ulama - We used this and learnt about the Scholars. We learnt the characteristics of the Scholars and what they do for us and also learnt about few scholars from the early generation and the current scholars who adhere to them. We wrote down some points on the Islaamic Studies book. We also spoke about Taabieen and the At baaut Taabieen.

English

• Grammar - Quantifiers. 

 

 

 

• Reading and Writing - We finished reading aloud the Treasure Island. Maimoonah was also busy reading the new set of books that we got recently. Abi bought her some notebooks and she was busy writing all by herself and all what she wants.

These are the few things that I found she has written. She says I am writing my journal and writes on and off. I was amazed to see her written the story of goldilocks and the bears. I have never taught her this. its starfall. She has remembered it and written in her own way with her own spelling. I only saw it after few days. : )

 

 

We also started doing this work book which turned out to be a good revision. 

 

Maths 

We continued with subtractions.

 

Science/ Social Studies

We learnt about Outer Space, Sun, Moon, Day and Night, stars, and Planets. We have covered this last year so we did some worksheets and read a lot from the books we have. Emphasised again that the earth does NOT go around the sun, rather it is the sun that goes around the earth. We learnt the hadeeth of the sun seeking permission to go down thus the day and night happens and also discussed about the fact that when Allaah does not give permission for the sun to set, that is a sign for the day of Judgement and no repentance will be accepted after that. 

 

We learnt about the Sun and the phases of the Moon.

  

We did the Scavenger hunt for the study of the Planets. Explained to her that the most planets are named after Greek so called gods and goddesses aoothubillaah, and Allaah did not name any planets and we only refer to them for studying purpose and we do not believe in those names as they are full of shirk. 

We did a home made kind of a magnifying glass: ) using cardboard, tape and drop of water!

 

Arabic

Alhamdulillaah Maimoonah's reading in Arabic is improving even though she does not like to put too much effort. This week she wanted to read the names of the Prophets in Arabic. Since this was her own initiation I was happy and she did this puzzle all by herself. she changed the names of the Prophets from English to Arabic. she brought me each Arabic Card and read it to me and then replaced it. There is no Haraqaat on it but she read, may be because she knew all the names of the Prophets but she basically read to me and when she was stuck I told her the haraqaat for some letters and she caught it. 

 

  

Alhamdulillaah we have completed our Kindergarten Curriculum for the school Year 2011/2012 by the grace and Mercy of Allaah. All praise is indeed due to Allaah that we were able to complete all according to the planned curriculum. Now looking forward to Ramadhaan and then another exciting beneficial school year Inshaa Allaah. Baarakallaah Feekum wa Jazzakumullaah Khayr for all of you who have encouraged and helped us throughout.
