Blending Online Learning into Homeschooling - Online Workshop for Mums

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

A few months ago, we had a FREE online workshop for mums who were suddenly forced to homeschool their children due to the current situation on "Making the Most of Online Learning". The turnout for this workshop was overwhelming Alhamdulillaah. Stemming from this introduction workshop we decided to go deeper into this dominating topic to enlighten the schooling and the homeschooling mums!

Yes, we have designed a simple to understand 4-day workshop for busy mums who are shouldered with an added responsibility of educating the children full time.

Situations bring CHANGES! Sometimes we like the changes and sometimes we don't.

COVID-19 has forced some changes in the whole education system and made the policymakers rethink and reinvent.

This means even after Allaah lifts this Calamity, the CHANGE in the Education Policy is going to be a reality.

This also means that parents are now required more than ever before to be part of the education of their children. Whether you homeschool or whether you send your children to school You as a MUM will have a different role to play in understanding and supporting the trend.

Home educators may argue this situation has no CHANGE in their Homeschool as they were always away from the Standard Education/School systems.

However, take note, Home Education too is expected to take a twist!

The wise Home Educator will not relax now. You have taken in charge of your children's education, therefore you should be aware of the happenings, you should be wise to prepare yourself now to ADAPT and Change where needed.

So our question is, how will the Covid-19 pandemic alter the future of teaching and learning?

Educationist and experts are predicting the below three points as some main changes to expect in the near future!

  • Blended Learning Will Dramatically Increase
  • Online Education Will Be a Strategic Priority at Every Institution
  • Existing and Potential Online Program Management (Providers) Partnerships Will Be Rethought

No doubt the above changes will have benefits and challenges. Many parents, as well as teachers, are new to these concepts and we cannot expect them to understand and adapt to these overnight.

Having noted the above the next question is to understand how this change would affect the "Muslim Children", and what should be taken into consideration by Muslim parents in order to adapt these changes without compromising the religion of Islaam.  The Salafus Saaliheen, our predecessors used to say that children are upon their initial upbringing, and it is this initial education that moulds them for the future.

And the greatest of blessings from our Lord is that everything Allah decrees for the believer, whether in ease or hardship, will be good for him. If he experiences ease, he remains grateful and is rewarded. If he experiences hardship, he remains patient and is rewarded. Therefore we as Muslim parents must be wise to understand these educational changes and adapt it accordingly where we pave the way to aid our children to fulfil the purpose of their creation. In other words, strike that balance!

There is so much more to this topic subhanallaah, so I invite you to join me for a 4 Weeks Workshop to learn how you could ADAPT to this change and prepare wisely to continue your homeschooling or educating your children with productivity and success, Inshaa Allaah.

What would this workshop cover?

Alhamdulillaah I have been blessed to be in the education field for the last 20 years. This means Allaah blessed me to experience the changes first hand in the education system over the past 20 years from a mainstream traditional classroom, school to homeschool to online learning to virtual learning and more, Alhamdulillaah. Come to think of it, subhanallaah, the advantage for me and for you is that I would be able to share with you information and experiences as a parent, a home educating mum, an online instructor/teacher and a certified Cambridge UK Educational mentor. Alhamdulillaah!

I would be offering support, advice and guidance which would involve transferring my experience and expertise to you where you could develop your skills and achieve your goals. Inshaa Allaah.

This would include but not limited to:

  • What is traditional Home Education and how it is redefined today!
  • How could Mums who are sending children to school use online learning to maximize productivity.
  • Challenges of Adapting to Home Education and Solutions
  • Understanding Online Learning
  • Understanding Blended Learning and Methods
  • Real-time Demonstrations of Blended Learning
  • Supporting Blended Learners
  • Embracing Your Homeschool with Blended Learning
  • Recommended Resources and Programs for Blended Learning
  • Detailed in-depth PDF printer-friendly notes to refer back any time

Testimonials

Here are a few of some feedback we have received from sisters who have joined us for the previous workshops.

"Umm Maimoonah is a wealthy source of tips, advice, information and resources for mothers who aspire to cultivate their children upon Quran and Sunnah. Amazed and inspired by her creative and
beautiful integration of Islam into Academics. May Allah give her the tawfeeq to continue the good work"
Umm Maryam. Saudi Arabia

"Alhamdulillah, I am so happy to be part of Umm Maimoonah’s workshops. She is such an amazing professional Muslim teacher, and she is also a good Muslim sister with knowledge and proper aqeedah In Sha Allah. Her workshop gives clear guidelines of homeschooling for Muslims that wants to adhere to Islamic principles, and all information about homeschooling from curriculum to learning style."
Umm Amelia, Canada

"Alhamdulilah workshop was awesome, it helped me a lot, knowing about my child and myself. I have learned that what a mother (as a teacher) should know about her children regarding their education and learning. Workshop boosted me with positive energy towards homeschooling and it has taught me, no matter whatever be your hurdles but there is a way and ease with every difficulty you face for which you have to be strong and courageous, alhamdulillah. The best part was
everything she explained was with correlation with Quran and sunnah. May Allah bless with her more knowledge and give her success in both the worlds. AMEEN"
Shabnam - Qatar

"This is here to thank you for letting me join your course: "Overcoming the Struggles of Homeschooling"
It was a life-changer for me and my daughter. Doctors informed me, she has a certain sign of autism. I was suffering from overwhelm and anxiety.  Your course helped me get out of it.  It changed my mother-child relationship too. I changed my teaching habits and she has shown a huge amount of improvement. We have got closer to understanding one another.
For this, I need to first congratulate you and thank you after Allah, to start blogs and courses which can change people's lives towards improvement.
May Allah grant you Jannah for your good work. Aameen."
Manaal - Qatar

"I benefitted enormously from this course. This is the first time I am joining a mums workshop by a Muslimah. By Allaah, I have nothing but good things to say about this course «Mums homeschooling workshop». I had so many 'aha'-experiences in this wonderful and very rich course and learned so much new about learning and teaching styles. I needed to be motivated and inspired for homeschooling, and Umm Maimoonah did that very well. I highly recommend more of these for mothers. May Allah bless her and her family and her wonderful work, Ameen!
Umm Sarah - Norway

"Allahu Akbar, this introductory workshop was so beneficial, Maa shaa’Allah. I’m thankful to Allah for what was presented. I have researched and read so much information regarding homeschooling from a range of education websites, homeschooling bloggers, and various advice offered by homeschooling parents. All of what I’ve come across so far, has actually been helpful yet overwhelming at the same time. However, by Allah’s decree, participating “live” online with a Muslimah as a facilitator, who Allah, the Most High, has blessed to learn from trustworthy salafi Scholars of Islam, and who from the method she used to present the information and from its content, alhamdulillah, Umm Maimoonah, selected and provided what is relevant to Muslim homeschooling parents who are striving to teach our children following the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad, sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, whilst also presenting an understanding of important general child development principles and useful teaching practices.
This workshop helped to sort out secular points and put them into context according to fundamental beliefs in Islam in an easy to understand way. It was EXACTLY what I needed to help me rethink and reflect on how and what I can capably do bi’ithnillaah for my children to the best of my ability."
Umm Aisha Dara - New Jersey, USA

"It was an eye-opener for me on homeschooling, the intriguing part is the learning and teaching styles while the most valuable advice from Umm Maimoonah was that «even if you are unable to achieve a scholarly secular knowledge, you would have achieved training the child with sound Aqeedah and make the child know him/her purpose of creation which is to serve Allaah alone. "
Ummu Uwais - Nigeria

"I attended Umm Maimoonah's Workshop with lots of uncertainty about homeschooling. But Alhamdullillah she was very approachable and cleared all the doubts I had. I particularly liked the talk on learning styles. She helped us with aiming at small, achievable goals for our children and also with making steps towards achieving those goals which I found immensely helpful. I definitely could see all the efforts put into the workshop come to life. May Allah reward her for her efforts and for all her future endeavours, Ameen."
Um Amina - Australia

"The workshop went well. It went beyond expectation for something conducted at home. Feels like it came from a big formal institution."
Amalia Rahma - Indonesia
