Summary - Week 19 - Getting Around - Land, Sea and Air Vehicles

Getting Around - Land, Sea and Air Vehicles

We read many facts about Trasportation and learnt many new things masha Allaah from the Encyclopedia and some good books we had on the topic. We learnt that Allaah has blessed us with modes and means of transportation and we should only use it for good things to earn the pleasure of Allaah!

We also watched a power point presentation on Land Sea and Air modes of transportation.

We read this nice book about different kind of vehicles with beautiful pictures and illustrations!

Alhamdulillaah this week we were blessed to have the mini work book, and Maimoonah was excited too. And sis Umm An Nu'man has indeed made it so child friendly with variety of interesting activities. May Allaah bless her.

So we read and learnt about the Hijrah of the Prophet and about Prophet's Camel Al Qaswa. This was easy for Maimoonah to teach as she has seen the dunes, travelled on the Camel here and seen the desert, masha Allaah!

Then she read and coloured the Land, Air and sea vehicles ..

She did the bar graph activity, and finding the name of the Camel activity

I helped her to make words in the mini work book.

We revised the dua to be recited when mounting on to the vehicle. and discussed about this great blessing of having a vehicle to travel, Alhamdulillaah!

She did these worksheets on the Topic. Connecting dots according to numbers and Alphabets, tracing and matching

Since we studied about Camels used by the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu alaihiwassalam and the sahabahs during the days of Islaam we did this set of nice easy worksheets which I got from here. (I am sorry I have not included this link on the curriculum as I found this after I uploaded the document). Maimoonah enjoyed these camel activities as she remembered her journey on the camel : ). She had to paste some pictures to see how many gifts could the camel carry, count and past the correct numbers. Sort the camels according to the size. Trace and Write the words camel.

Then we made this simple lapbook from home school share

We made the wheels of the bus, a wheels counting pocket, a shapes bus, she read the colours and coloured the cars accordingly, an emergency vehicle wheel, she wrote her name, also used water colours and painted the boat and the sea.

This is the Cover of the Lapbook. She decorated with Gel pens.

This is the inside of the Lapbook.

This is a closer look.

Then we read a little bit about Trains and made this paper train from here

I had some Transportation puzzle pieces and she was busy making them this week. The pic is missing at the moment : )

Asmaaul Husna
We learnt two more names of Allaah!

Reading, Writing and Language
We read many books based on the topic. She could read these small books independently with little help and she learnt new words too. She has been asking me to read these books through out the week.

She traced this.

Arabic
We learnt two more letters.

We read these two books from arabicfirst and a muslim child is born.

We added from the word flow 6 more new words.

Maths
We did few more chapters from the MEP

Montessori Activities
Beading
This was a nice activity to keep her in one place for sometime lol! Here is what she made without any help!
