We are pretty much going slow on Week 15 and Week 16 mainly due to very cold weather and Maimoonah was down with cold and needed some rest, so we took some days off hence activities are less, Qadarallaah Masha Allaah!
Islaamic Studies
Seerah - We read the following parts from the Sealed Nectar and wrote down on our Book.
We spoke about the incident that the Messenger of Allaah wanted to throw himself from a Mountain after he received the revelation and every time he wanted to do that he saw Jibreel alahissalaam on the horizon and Allaah protected him from doing so. Maimoonah was amazed to know that. We also spoke about the goodness of Khadeejah radhiyallaahu anha. And also about the first sahabahs to accepted the Message.
She also stuck the stickers on the seerah timeline.
Insha Allaah we will be doing the follow up activities this week.
English Language
- Jolly Phonics - We reviewed some letter sounds. Insha Allaah we will do more later
- Grammar - Animal Movements. I did not have the Little Grammar Reader on this, so I wrote some sentences on the board to make it easy for her and then she did the activities in the Workbook.
Social Studies
Continents and Nations - Europe and Review
Maths
MEP - This week we learnt the greater than less than and equal to concepts. I did not do anything fancy to teach this as I thought first I will try just telling and see if she can catch the concept. I just wrote all the signs and said this is what it means. And she caught it masha Allaah. She did the MEP activities. One particular one where she has to write the signs many time, she got confused and I left it.
Then I gave few equations for her to do and she was able to do masha Allaah!
Arabic
We could not do all what we planned, but we did start Alhamdulilaah. We started Quraan Center activities but will continue next week too.
Then we almost finsihed the Conversation part. She is able to say all this in Arabic now.
Then she also started with the writing and write this, she needed more help with joining and writing but she is catching up Insha Allaah!

As'salaamu Alayki wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh.
May Allah Azza wa Jal heal Maimoonah, Aameen. I know all about the slow weeks with colds, maashaa Allah. Alhamdulilah, looks like you were still able to get a few things completed.
Inshaa Allah tell Maimoonah I will keep her in my du'a, that Allah subhanhu wa ta'ala allows her to feel better soon, Aameen.
Asalaamu alaikum sis,
The weather is freezing over here in the UK too subhanAllah! May Allah give Maimoonah quick Shifah!
Umm Sara over at Lifetime learning at home, has some good more than less than ideas for the MEP mashAllah (if you haven't seen already).
I pray that Maimoonah gets better soon inshAllah. It seems as though you got soem work done though mashAllah. I love reading about your seerah studies.
Alaikum salaam warahmathullaahi wa barakaathuhu ya Akhawaat and Aameen to all your dua and concern!
Umm Khidr, yes we just took more than a week to do the work and this week too we did some work during the weekend to finish up :)
Umm Khadeeja, yes Jazzakillaah Khayr Umm Sara has some nice activities. I thought I will try the straight forward way first, so far she seems ok.
Amatullaah, Maimoonah is cured now by the Mercy of Allaah and pretty much normal Alhamdulillaah, but the cold weather is keeping us slow : ) Its so dusty here and windy for the last week, subhanallaah! Oh I want to do more activities now on Seerah to make things live Insha Allaah. Lets see how we can do it. We talk a lot about each incidents and this makes it easy for her to remember.
assalamu alaikum,
MashaAllah good work. Good to see her Arabic handwriting is improving.
When I wrote math summary recently I mentioned that I liked some of the activities on less than, greater than or equal to concepts.
In particular, exercises 3 and 4 (and similar exercises come in the following lessons as well) on the page you have above really lets kids think and concentrate mashaAllah. at first I did not think Ibrahim could finish them, it just looked confusing for myself even, but alhamdulillah he finished them all. I think they should have made the font as well as the objects bigger, because they are really small and it might seem too overwhelming for small kids. I did not give them to Sarah but I'm going to make something similar with a few examples (an increase them as she improves)and in bigger picture inshaAllah.
Maybe you could do the same with Maimoonah, give her less examples and make them bigger and add more as she goes inshaAllah.
Alaikum salaam Umm Sara,
Yes masha Allaah Arabic is much better now especially with Qur'aan Centre activities, she is trying to write those words.
I agree yes sis, they make kids think. And I also feel when she came to that point she was a bit restless. She did the following pages without an issue. and I feel may be because it was pictures and not sticks : ) and she understood what they are referring to, we did practice these on the board and I drew them big and she did complete them. We are still continuing, Jazzakillaah Khayr for the tips sis. Much appreciated!
