Ramadhaan Activities 8 - 2011 - I love you for the Sake of Allaah

We spoke about loving someone for the sake of Allaah. This was a nice discussion and it was very new to Maimoonah. She was very thoughtful. We must love Allaah sincerely and Loving Him is Obeying Him always. We spoke about not loving Shirk and the people of Shirk and loving is only for the sake of Allaah. We love the people who love Allaah. And we should love the Messenger of Allaah more than anyone in this world, yourself, your parents or anyone in this world. And loving him is obeying him

We also learnt that its good to express to someone that you love that person for the sake of Allaah and someone tells you this the reply should be May He for whose sake you love me , love you".

Then She made this Card from Smart Ark and gave it to her Abi.

Abi was very proud of her, masha Allaah! Then to keep it as a record we made today's journal entry with it. I must tell you that our sister Umm Tafari has started a Visual Journaling 4 Kids blog to share all about Visual Journalling. Masha Allaah this is really helping us do things better. So after reading her latest post we attempted to do some thing similar. Insha Allaah we hope to do more in the future a little deeper too.
So here is what we did. First we pasted a coloured construction paper on to the page and then on one side pasted the card, and on the other side we used paper ribbon and pasted around the border. Then I asked Maimoonah to write something about her Abi. Also we discussed that asking Dua for Parents is a very good thing to do especially in the month of Ramadhaan, and Allaah will accept the dua. So she made a small dua for her Abi raising her hands, when I asked what she asked she wrote this asking a bit of spellings from me. : )

And this is how the page looks now.

She has written "Abi I love you, Abi Plays, O Allaah! Give success to Abi!"

Ramadhaan Activities 7 - 2011 - Smile at Ummi!

Today we did discussed about how smiling at someone can make them happy. She immediately send it is charity! I also saod being cheerful and smiling are good qualities and having a grumpy face is not so good. Smiling shows that you are happy with someone and etc etc, so we discussed about smile and today the whole day she was supposed to smile at her Ummi : )

She made this Journal entry. She drew these circles and put a smile on each circle. and she wanted paint to decorate today. We used acrylic poster colours and this is her work for today!

TJ Ramadan Amanahwebs not working!

TJ Ramadan Amanahwebs not working

For some reason, the TJ Ramadan site at Amanahwebs is not working, and I am not sure why.

Alhamdulillah, I had begun to relocate the site anyway. TJ Ramadan at blogspot is up and running, and though I have not copied all content, there is a great deal of material there, as well as some new material/links as well, so please visit:

Ramadhaan Activities 6 - 2011 - A Day of Fasting

We read this A Day of Fasting Wheel and discussed how a fasting person passes his or her day. 

Then she did the A Day of Fasting worksheet from TJ. She drew the suhoor food. She said that was some sweet and water. Then she drew the Quraan saying she recites and she drew some books saying she reads. Then she wrote "CLEAN" meaning she helps with cleaning. Then for Iftaar she drew some dates and a glass of water.

We also Fatima's First Fasting Day, masha Allaah even though it was a little long she enjoyed the story especially the sighting of the moon part!!

Then she made this Journal Entry. I told her write in one word all what she would do if she was fasting. She actually wrote everything step by step asking me few spellings masha Allaah!.Then we had a blast with Roller Stamping. I told her decorate as you wish and this was the end results!!

At the end of the day I asked her now tell me is Ummi's Day of Fasting? then she said " Ummi eats Suhoor, prays Fajr, Teaches me, recites the Qur'aan, Prays, give me lunch, GETS A LITTLE ANGRY (I was like what? lol), Cooks for Iftaar, Prays, feeds me, washes me and puts me to sleep, prays Qiyaamul Layl!". Then I asked her what is Abi's day of fasting? she said " the same thing Ummi, I am very busy now ok, I got to go"...That is it : )

Ramadhaan Activities 5 - 2011 - Iftaar

We learn about Iftaar today. We discussed that the Messenger of Allaah sallaahu alaihiwasallam has informed us that we should be hasty in breaking the fast when the Adhaan is called for Magrib and it is one of the happiest moment for a fasting person.

She did this Iftaar worksheet from TJ. We spoke about the best thing to break fast with according to the sunnah and other healthy Food that are good for us to eat at Iftaar.

She traced and pasted some food that we eat at Iftaar.

Then she sorted healthy and unhealthy food and pasted them accordingly. This is from the Ramadhaan Activity book of sis Umm An Nu'man.

We also learnt that it is indeed a rewarding act to feed a fasting person and we get rewarded when we cook and give the fasting people at Iftaar time. We learnt the dua to be said to the host when someone invites us for Iftaar Insha Allaah!. She was very happy about the reward and after she finished her work went it to her "Kitchen" and made a porridge for Abi and Ummi and you can see it here on the table closed and kept to be consumed at Iftaar time.  : )

We did these activities from the Ramadhaan Activity Book.

 

Then we made the journal Entry for today. This is her Iftaar today masha Allaah! We made a corn soup and ate with buns after breaking fast with dates and water.

Ramadhaan Activity 4 - 2011 I love Dates!

Today we learnt about dates and the date palm trees. We learnt this hadeeth: Masha Allaah since we live in a land where you see only date palm trees it was easy to explain this hadeeth to Maimoonah!

Narrated ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "Amongst the trees, there is a tree, the leaves of which do not fall and is like a Muslim. Tell me the name of that tree." Everybody started thinking about the trees of the desert areas. And I thought of the date-palm tree but felt shy to answer the others then asked, "What is that tree, O Allah's Apostle ?" He replied, "It is the date-palm tree."




Then we took out our Ramadhaan Lapbook we made last year and read all the hadeeth related to dates from this date bowl!

 

When she read the hadeeth about the Messenger of Allaah sallaahu alaihiwasallam saying "O Aisha those who have dates in their house will not go hungry".. Maimoonah was saying out the house also Ummi as we eat dates outside also... : ) I had to tell her we stop where the Messenger of Allaah stopped and this is how it works: )

Then she made this Journal Entry today. Masha Allaah she like the date palm tree and keep telling its like me .. The Date Palm tree is like a Muslim... like me. : )

 

I told her a little about Ibn Umar radhiyallaahu anhu who was only a small boy and he knew the answer for it but felt shy to tell the Messenger of Allaah. And how intelligent he was for his age and we made the connection that Abdullaah ibn Umar was the son of Umar bin Khattab one of the sahabah who is promised Jannah. Just made it a point that what we have studied lives Insha Allaah!

Then we did this Dates Fall Down Maths Activity and learnt subtraction!

 

Then we made this cute date bx from smart ark. She coloured decorated with silver and gold glitter and put some ajwa dates into it and packed. 

Its waiting to be opened for Iftaar Insha Allaah!. She really loved the box masha Allaah!.
