We learnt about Prophet Idris alahissalaam this week. We used Ibn Katheer's Stories of Prophets for this.
We pasted the Prophets Fact Sheets and recorded about him alahissalaam.
She traced this.
We learnt that Prophet Idris was the first Prophet to be sent to mankind after Aadam and Sheeth Alahissalaam. We also learnt that he was born while Aadam alahissalaam still had three hundred and eighty years more to live!
We learnt that he was the First Man to write with a pen in this world. We pasted some pictures with pen, ink and so on along with our review questions. Co incidently we visited the Museum of Islaamic Art here last weekend (Pictures and post about our visit will come shortly Insha Allaah!) and we saw many ink pots and pens all the Muslims used many many years ago. We spoke about it and remembered the great favour of Allaah that He taught us how to write.
Then we learnt that Allaah speaks about Prophet Idris in Soorah Maryam saying that "he was a truthful Prophet and Allaah raised him to a high station". We learnt his Story and learnt a bit about Malakal Mawth and how his soul was taken at the fourth heaven.

As Salaamu Alaikum!!!!
I was just thinking about doing this with the girls. Does Maimoonah ask a lot of questions? Also I cant wait to see your pics! Oh about having comment issues- the only thing I notice different is that when you want to leave a comment a box pops up. I didn't have to do that before. Enjoy the post- I've been reviewing your past weeks - and I'm really trying to get some tips on how to do curriculum with the girls- oh check my blog- I left you a msg under the post of my family day slide :)
Alaikum salaam
What kind of questions are you thinking of? When I spoke about Malakal Mawth she did not ask many questions except she said All of us will die one day Ummi? Other than this I cannot recall she asking me any questions. Allaahu A'lam.
Insha Allaah will try to post the pcis of the museum soon.

Hmmm I think I meant questions like: "Where is he?", or "Where is he from" stuff like that. I notice if I tell Susu and Yara something they have a lot of questions like that. It seems like Maimoonah listens attentively :) Mashaa'Allaah. Look forward to seeing your pics :)
Well she has not asked questions like that. But if I tell her Allaah can see everything at the same time. Then if you tell her do not damage anything in this house as the owners can see what you are upto, then she has asked me Are they like Allaah, Ummi? Then I had to say what I meant was they can see what you are upto if they come here to check or something like that... So in her case most of the things she asks me very much later during some circumstance. While teaching she will listen and attention span is short, so I make a very quick explanation and talk about it portion by portion at different timings.

Ohhh that makes sense that you explain quickly and portion by portion! Perhaps I need to work on my delivery lol....I'm long winded naturally. And often explain things as if the kids are on my level *shakes head* I'm learning a lot....and I see I have some areas I can increase/decrease in
As Salaamu Alaikum,

My grandson is turning 9 next month. Do you have a pack for 4th grade?
