mashAllah you are still progressing with the MEP alhamdulillah! It made me laugh when you said "still going on with the < >"
...sis it goes on for aaaaaaaages! lol
Although in all honesty, I think it is beneficial for the kids to understand this concept so young - they are teaching the mathamatical language which will aid them as they get older inshallah.

Well done Maimoonah mashAllah! :) xzx

Asalamualaikum
I have been waiting to visit your blog when I havr lots ot time to spend on it but I will prob not have that in a long time (when kids have moved out???). So a quick skim read of your posts will have to suffice, sorry for not commenting on each post but I have found lots of benefit mashAllah.
Quick question- although I really found MEP R to be great, I am not sure about YR1. How are you finding it? I find it reallly limiting and one-directional. I expect maths to be more child friendly and more use of a variety of maths skills. I am currently looking into designing my own to use with U from 4 years old that meets the learning objectives from MEP yr1 and kindergarden Common Core State Standards for Mathematics but it's a long process. I would love to know your thoughts on mep yr1.

Umm Khadeejah, Jazzakillaah Khayr. Yes I understand what you mean. Then again am getting a little bored : ) Maimoonah does not complaint any way mainly because I do each page only for a 15 minutes and not every day.

Alaikum salaam Amatullaah, no problems at all, and there is no hard and fast rule that you have to comment on each post lol!!! I do love comments but not at the expense of people troubling themselves lol. I know we all have responsibilities ukhtee and I truly understand. I get caught up too.

Year 1 MEP is different but as Umm K has stated above they have a reason for this and I understand. Then again as you say children need variety and they need something interesting as well also since we have started our kids early on the MEP sometimes might not have the expected results due to age and ability. Any way I am planning of moving to Cambridge Primary Curriculum from next year onwards for many reasons which I will explain later after the Kindergarten year Insha Allaah. So I saw the books recommended by Cambridge for this level and I might use them along with MEP from next year Allaah knows best, but this is what I thought. For some reason I feel MEP makes kids think very practically and even though it seems one directional it is done with a purpose, and Maimoonah does not complaint, its be who is bored : ) So I do not want to drop it. My weakness is maths, so I want Maimoonah to have a good basic and I think MEP will help me. So I thought with the other books I choose I will still continue with MEP. What do you think?
