بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
When I gave birth to my eldest daughter seventeen years ago, I suddenly felt an overwhelming responsibility. I needed to figure out how to nurture her best. We had already decided to homeschool her even before her birth, but I was not aware how the process of imparting knowledge and skills would take place at such an early age. I browsed through the blogs back then and found some help from others, but the information was minimal. A few beautiful sisters were sharing their nurturing journeys, and we had a small group of sisters from around the world supporting each other. Alhamdulillaah. We learnt from each other. However, most of the time, I had to figure out things by actually doing them, and it was a long learning process. My responsibilities at that time were to take care of one child, and I enjoyed spending that time with her, trying many different things. Alhamdulillaah, Allaah blessed us to succeed and guided us throughout this journey.
Fast-forward now, and what we see is an overwhelming load of information. Mums are busier than ever, and social media and technology have taken centre stage. Mums themselves have a concise attention span. They would not want to read more than two sentences, and the world is whirling with—I am not sure what.
As a professional teacher, I see that many children today lack basic functional, language, behaviour management, and even emotional and social skills. This was not the case a decade ago. Pondering this, I realised that the period I call the golden years of a child, 0 - 5 years, may not have been utilised properly to impart those foundational skills. So, when children pass that age, they are still struggling. Additionally, even with a lot of technical information out there, new mums cannot make relevance to nurturing their children. Too many theories and technical aspects are not the solution to foster children. While there is no harm in knowing such techniques and theories and adapting those tools, the core aspect is that they need proper guidance in implementation. What are the dos and what are the don'ts? What should you give, and what should you hold back? Where should you allocate more time?
Are you unsure what your child should be learning at their age, how to balance structured learning with play, or how to manage their screen time effectively? Do you struggle to keep your toddlers and preschoolers focused, handle frustration during learning activities, or create a positive learning environment at home? Are you confused about teaching approaches, tracking progress, or understanding early years education? Perhaps you're doubting yourself, wondering if you're providing the right content, or feeling exhausted searching for activities to engage your energetic toddler without relying on screens. Are you unsure how to teach Islam in a way that's suitable for their age? If you're burdened by the lack of the right resources to make the most of these precious early years, join me for a comprehensive course where we'll address these concerns, including screen time, and equip you with the tools to teach your little ones confidently at home.
