Learning Time with Abi!

We are busy these days with Parts of the Body Lapbook Masha Allaah, its very interesting and loads of things to do. Will keep you updated soon Insha Allaah once we finish it.

Meanwhile Maimoonah has been having some quality learning time with her Abi last few weeks. Here is a glimps of it Insha Allaah..

Doing some Arts and Crafts...

She wanted to learn to tell the time so that she could tell "Its 5 o' clock, take me to the alligator (our play area) and its this time pray magrib etc etc. So here it goes Abi trying to teach her to tell the time.. no interference from me lol!

Masha Allaah she learned something! Good work Abi! Keep it up!

Then they had a BBQ... She was like "Abi is cooking" !!!!

Alhamdulillaah that was a good dinner!

Possessor of the kingdom!

"Say (O Muhammad sallaahu alaihi wasallam): "O Allâh! Possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You endue with honour whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will. In Your Hand is the good. Verily, You are Able to do all things". (Aali Imran 3:26)

"You make the night to enter into the day, and You make the day to enter into the night (i.e. increase and decrease in the hours of the night and the day during winter and summer), You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give wealth and sustenance to whom You will, without limit (measure or account)." (Aali Imran 3:27)

Subhanallaah, I just experienced a test from Allaah like many women do bi idhnillaah and pondered so much over the above aayaahs. Just wanted to share with others too.

Alhamdulillaah Allaah is indeed Ar Rahmaan who guides us through trials and calamities and makes us close to Him. Oh Allaah Forgive my sins and replace this with something better Aameen!

Parts of the Body - Perfection in the Creation of Allaah!

So we started our Theme/Unit study again masha Allaah. It was so nice to come back after along time. So we chose parts of the body. Main goal was that Maimoonah should identify the parts and know the names both in English and Arabic.

We bagan with sis Umm An Nu'man's beneficial meterials which could be found here Insha Allaah. We cut them out and pasted in her Environmental Studies book and I asked her to show me the parts of the body and name them both in Arabic and English.

Then we took out this book whcih I have been using from the time she was born to introduce words and pictures to her.

We opened up the pages that teaches about the parts of the body and read them, pointing to her body parts all the time. Also we discussed how Perfect Allaah is in His Creation that He has made us so beautifully and explained to her that we need to thank Him very often for this Insha Allaah.

Then we made a Muslim paper doll which we took from here.

She enjoyed this so much masha Allaah and still plays with it, makes the doll prays with her too!

To continue on this theme Insha Allaah we will be doing a lapbook. Will keep you updated Insha Allaah.

Somethings to remember!

Hijaab Day!

Our little Muslimah was all day in Hijaab today Masha Allaah. She insisted she wanted to wear my hijab and from morning till evening she was in Hijaab doing her day to day work.

She prayed, ate went to the toilet and even slept with the Hijaab lol. And the most important point is that she behaved very well just like a Muslimah masha Allaah. I was so surprised she on her own remembered all her manners. She spoke softly, gave salams, said all her duas without me prompting and said sorry when necessary.. Oh it was like too much for me to digest masha Allaah lol!

Subhanallaah see how well kids know it so naturally and this is indeed their fitrah! May Allaah keep our children upon this fitrah and guide them Aameen.

Reading and reading...

We have been not able to do our activities for some time now due to many reasons, Insha Allaah hope to come back soon with learning Insha Allaah. But we've been reading and reading aloud these days and taking things easy...

Maimoonah brings books one after the other from her little book cupboard and we were reading aloud these books for the past few weeks masha Allaah,

This is a book on Quraan stories. We read this very often and she loves the story of Allaah created the First Man..

These books are from the series "Prophets sent by Allaah" by darus salaam.. She enjoys listening the stories of the Prophets masha Allaah and getting accustomed with the names of the Prophets and their respect stories. And we have been talking and discussing a lot about Islaam, Tawheed, Hell and Heaven. Masha Allaah children learn a lot by just talking to them.

These little books are from the "Learn about series" by Darul Kitab.

Nice little books to read and read and make the kids learn and get familiarized with Islamic etiquette and facts. It has many levels and Maimoonah likes me to read to her the higher levels even though I assume she does not understand much, nevertheless there is no harm in reading lol.

How a Deep Sense of Love Turned My Attention to Advising My Son

In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Mercy-Giving

All praise is for Allah
who created the first father (Adam) from dust
and brought forth his progeny
from between the backbone [of a man]
and the breast bones [of a woman]
and strengthened families through bonds of kinship
and ties of lineage
and bestowed upon me knowledge
and enabled me to discern what is correct
and let me be raised well as a child
and protected me with children
through which I hope to gain much reward

'My Lord! Make me steadfast in observing the Prayer-and also my children, our Lord. And do accept my supplication. Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents-and all the believers-on the Day the Reckoning arises.' [14:40-41]

As for what shall follow:

The truth is, when I realized how noble a thing was marriage, and how wondrous a blessing were children, I recited the Qur'an from beginning to end, and then asked Allah, Exalted is He and Most High to provide me with 10 children, and he did so: Five boys and five girls. Of the girls, two passed. And of the boys, four. So none of the boys remained, save Abu'l-Qaasim [His name was Ali]. So I asked Allah, Most High, to make for him righteous descendants, and to let him reach his aspirations and let him realize success.

Then I saw in my son a period of failing resolve and lack of striving in seeking divine knowledge. So I wrote for him this booklet [that is, the last section of Sayd al-Khatir] in order to encourage him, and to motivate him along his path to gain knowledge, and to guide him to turn to the One who will enable him to do this, Exalted be He and Most High.

Thus have I written this for him, knowing that there is none who can cause a person to fail if Allah has ordained success for him. As there is none who can guide one that Allah has let stray [on account of their rejection of faith]. Even so, Allah, Exalted is He and Most High, has said: Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds-and exhort one another to [uphold] the truth, and exhort one another to [persevere in faith with] patience. [103:3]. He said, as well: So continue to remind all people [with the Qur'an]-even if the reminding benefits [only some of them] [87:9]. Indeed, there is no strength nor any power save with Allah, the High, the Mighty.

Advice as to 'Looking at the Reality of This World'

One who thinks about the existence of the world that preceded his own existence sees a very long period of time. And should one think about the world’s existence after he shall leave it, he sees a similarly long period of time. Moreover he knows that the time he shall spend in the grave will be long, indeed. And should he further think about the Day of Judgment [in view of divine knowledge], he shall realize that it is 50,000 years. Then, if he thinks about the time to be spent in Paradise or Hellfire, he shall see that it is a period of time with no end.

Now, if he takes another look at the time he abides in this world-we’ll say 60 years, for example-he sees that he spends 30 years sleeping and about 15 in childhood. Then, if he calculates the rest of this time, he sees that most of it is spent in fulfilling desires, eating and earning wealth.

So after one separates out what of his actions were left for the Afterlife, he finds so many of them were performed with insincerity and heedlessness. With what, then, shall one buy the life everlasting, when the price offered has been nothing but these few hours?
