Advise to a son!

This is something I read on face book and subhanallaah very beneficial Naseehah! Read on...

How a Deep Sense of Love Turned My Attention to Advising My Son

In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Mercy-Giving

All praise is for Allah
who created the first father (Adam) from dust
and brought forth his progeny
from between the backbone [of a man]
and the breast bones [of a woman]
and strengthened families through bonds of kinship
and ties of lineage
and bestowed upon me knowledge
and enabled me to discern what is correct
and let me be raised well as a child
and protected me with children
through which I hope to gain much reward

'My Lord! Make me steadfast in observing the Prayer-and also my children, our Lord. And do accept my supplication. Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents-and all the believers-on the Day the Reckoning arises.' [14:40-41]

As for what shall follow:

The truth is, when I realized how noble a thing was marriage, and how wondrous a blessing were children, I recited the Qur'an from beginning to end, and then asked Allah, Exalted is He and Most High to provide me with 10 children, and he did so: Five boys and five girls. Of the girls, two passed. And of the boys, four. So none of the boys remained, save Abu'l-Qaasim [His name was Ali]. So I asked Allah, Most High, to make for him righteous descendants, and to let him reach his aspirations and let him realize success.

Then I saw in my son a period of failing resolve and lack of striving in seeking divine knowledge. So I wrote for him this booklet [that is, the last section of Sayd al-Khatir] in order to encourage him, and to motivate him along his path to gain knowledge, and to guide him to turn to the One who will enable him to do this, Exalted be He and Most High.

Thus have I written this for him, knowing that there is none who can cause a person to fail if Allah has ordained success for him. As there is none who can guide one that Allah has let stray [on account of their rejection of faith]. Even so, Allah, Exalted is He and Most High, has said: Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds-and exhort one another to [uphold] the truth, and exhort one another to [persevere in faith with] patience. [103:3]. He said, as well: So continue to remind all people [with the Qur'an]-even if the reminding benefits [only some of them] [87:9]. Indeed, there is no strength nor any power save with Allah, the High, the Mighty.

Advice as to 'Looking at the Reality of This World'

One who thinks about the existence of the world that preceded his own existence sees a very long period of time. And should one think about the world’s existence after he shall leave it, he sees a similarly long period of time. Moreover he knows that the time he shall spend in the grave will be long, indeed. And should he further think about the Day of Judgment [in view of divine knowledge], he shall realize that it is 50,000 years. Then, if he thinks about the time to be spent in Paradise or Hellfire, he shall see that it is a period of time with no end.

Now, if he takes another look at the time he abides in this world-we’ll say 60 years, for example-he sees that he spends 30 years sleeping and about 15 in childhood. Then, if he calculates the rest of this time, he sees that most of it is spent in fulfilling desires, eating and earning wealth.

So after one separates out what of his actions were left for the Afterlife, he finds so many of them were performed with insincerity and heedlessness. With what, then, shall one buy the life everlasting, when the price offered has been nothing but these few hours?

Art and Craft / Pre Writing Skills

We have not done arts and crafts for a long time and decided to do a paper boat and then a paper flower. We used a nice simple art and craft book which I downloaded as our guide.

Showed her how to fold and then she decorated the boat with crayons and gel pens.

Then the boat looked like this!

Then we made this beautiful flower. Masha Allaah she knew how to fold the petals and folded them and glued them too. And she could cut on a straight line to some extent masha Allaah. Need to give her more practice on this Insha Allaah!

This was the final product and she named the parts of the plants she knew by pointing to the stem, leaves and the flower.

I want to slowly give her some pre writing stuff just to give her some pencil control. So taught her how to use the ruler as she was very curious with it! And she liked it very much! She matched some of the words she knows to read with her ruler this time!

Then we did some worksheets on drawing lines and figuring out tall and short! She understood tall to be big and short to be small lol!

One of those days...

Alhamdulillaah ala kulli haal! Last couple of days have been so stressful, qadarallaah Masha Allaah. Maimoonah has been behaving funny and was so different! We were trying to figure out what was wrong! But could not until now!

Any way just told myself its just a passing phase Insha Allaah and that she is irritated or upset with something that she cannot express. Tried to be very nice to her but she was in a full rebelling mood and just wanted to see me and her father getting annoyed with her behaviour! She was like falling down for lies and was trying to get our sympathy and all that. Tried ignoring but patience ran out too several times, had to be firm and stern with her at times. Any way made lot of duas and masha Allaah today she was back to normal!

This kind of behaviour has happened before too few times but did not last long like this time. I am sure sisters with many kids would have experienced this many times. Please give some advise as to what is the best way to handle this Insha Allaah.

I turn to my Lord in every difficulty and that has helped, but I am worried that if I had done something wrong to her in the midst of all the anger, then I need to rectify it and make taubah! I keep asking Allaah to forgive me if I have wronged her in any way knowingly or unknowingly!

Subahanallaah! What a test! Indeed children are a trial for us in this world! Oh Allaah give us sabr and guide us ! Aameen!

Desk and Chair!

Our little girl has grown now masha Allaah and her Abi gifted her this...

She was so thrilled and loved it so much masha Allaah! I told her that the figures on it were a little too much and we need to cut the eyes off as the Angels will not enter the house. She was very serious and wanted me to do it right away masha Allaah! The pic was taken before cutting the eyes off!

She staright away wanted to start her studies in her new classroom!

We got her these puzzles as well and this keeps her occupied for some time these days. She is so happy that she could fix them and she does it over and over again with confidence masha Allaah.

Fun City!

Maimoonah had great fun this weekend Masha Allaah! You can call it a little bit of Physical Exercises too!

On our way to the activity arena we saw these beautiful stuff! Great for home decor!

This is the Ice arena where children have fun. She was watching how they were playing..

This was her favorite, jump and jump high high....

Here she goes around the Merry-go-round!

From the Ferry Weel, Arial view!

Inside a Train..

Parts of a Plant!

Continuing the study on plants we learnt the parts of a plant today! Watched a powerpoint presentation on the Parts of a Plant. We cut and pasted the parts of the plant on her Environmental Studies book and named them. We got this from here

Then she pointed to each part and said what they were.

We had not painted for some time now and she was asking me if she could do some sponge painting. So she got all her freedom to mess around with paints and she made flowers like this...

Weekend Out Doors!

This weekend we took a long drive to a private zoo and a park, but unfortunately there was nothing much at this place and we only enjoyed the ride! Went around the area and did not even get down! But on our way back we saw this and gave Maimoonah some play time...

She was playing run and catches with her Abi at the park, giggling.....

She was saying she likes to have a bicycle for some time now and we also think its high time we buy her one Insha Allaah. So took her around looking for a suitable one. She tried few in many places but we were not happy with any. So still the hunt continues.. Hope to get her a good one Insha Allaah!

She enjoyed these small rides and was highly thrilled, masha Allaah!
